Tractor Operated Mobile Grain Dryer in Koraput
If you run a rice mill, a procurement centre or a farm near Koraput, you already know how quickly wet grain loses value. The Shomas Tractor Operated Mobile Grain Dryer in Koraput is a PTO operated, trailer-mounted dryer that you tow with a tractor to wherever the grain is, load automatically through a bucket elevator, and dry with digital temperature control.
The Shomas range gives you three batch sizes: 2000 kg (SGMD2000), 3000 kg (SGMD3000) and 5000 kg (SGMD5000) of maize per batch. All three dry paddy, wheat, maize, grains and pulses, and can take moisture down from as high as 40% to 14%.
Why Koraput needs a mobile grain dryer
The main pressure around Koraput comes in the kharif paddy harvest in November and December, when coastal rain and cyclones disturb the open-yard drying that most farmers rely on. A dryer that moves with the grain gives mills and traders in Koraput a way to start drying within hours of harvest. The main crops in Odisha that buyers dry include paddy and pulses.
- Start drying paddy and other grain within hours of harvest
- Tow the dryer to the mill, mandi, yard or farm with a tractor
- Remove 3% moisture per hour in paddy and wheat, and up to 5% in maize
- Finish with grain at 12% to 14% moisture for safe storage and sale
